That Syncopated Boogie-Boo

“Heliopause,” Photographed 7 May 2010 in Cascadilla Gorge.
When I uploaded the photo to my computer, I noticed the rich purple hues surrounding the small puddle of water and had to share it with you. “Heliopause” looks almost otherworldly — a place beyond all comprehension.

This is a photograph by an artist I work with, Helena Cooper. The ways she captures the natural world are phenomenal, and they make me think so much about what we risk here by letting hydrofracking companies and other resource exploiters do their work. It wouldn’t bother me as much if I believed their practices safe, but I think it means horrible thing for our groundwater and the agricultural community. And quite honestly, what corporate greed should overrule the human necessities of clean water and nourishment? Zoom

That Syncopated Boogie-Boo I graduated from Smith a few years ago, and then I decided to create a Tumblr for some reason. It used to have a different name, but I renamed it because I realized the name was completely ridiculous. It's been changed to the title of a really awesome song from 1913.

Now I blog and stuff, mostly resharing things from my presence elsewhere.

You should check out foodfromthegarden.tumblr.com or kallisti.writingkaye.com if you want to hear more from me.
